Workalu: Workplaces like a technology construction kit

Bedrunka + Hirth expands product range with new aluminum profile plug-in system

Workalu: Workplaces like a technology construction kit

Bräunlingen, March 2021 - Elegant in appearance, easy to clean and adaptable to any room and any requirement - this description suits the new Workalu modular workstation plug-in system from Bedrunka + Hirth perfectly. The industrial equipment specialist based in the Black Forest has expanded its product range to follow a common customer request, as Managing Director Ludwig Kellner emphasizes: "Aluminum profiles have now found their way into many workshop areas. With our range expansion, we want to offer adaptable workstations at an optimal value between price and performance."

The Workalu system is available with 4-leg and C-leg tables, single- and double-sided frames, various linking options, add-on modules and corner modules. Worktops are offered in different dimensions, thicknesses and for different requirements, whether water-repellent, impact-, scratch- and abrasion-resistant or suitable for electrostatically sensitive workspaces. The system is available in 16 standard colors (RAL standard colours) and can be adapted to the customer's cooperate design. The 40x40 mm aluminum profiles are cut to size according to the customer's requirements and provided for easy self-assembly. This allows saving transport costs.

However, the real talents of the new product line are based on the versatility of the plug-in system and the properties of aluminum as a material, explains Kilian Mahler, who developed the aluminum plug-in system for Bedrunka + Hirth. The 22-year-old Bachelor of Engineering, majoring in design and development, had previously worked with aluminum profiles during his dual studies at Bedrunka + Hirth and laid the foundation for the new division with his student research project.

"Aluminum not only looks classy," says Mahler, " it only weighs a third compared to steel, is highly corrosion-resistant and easy to clean." These are aspects, he says, that

recommend Workalu for mobile solutions or for applications with high hygiene requirements, for example in the pharmaceutical or food industry.

The decisive advantage of the new product line from Bedrunka + Hirth lies in the almost unlimited combination variety and adaptability of the aluminum profile plug-in system. As designer Kilian Mahler explains, this is ensured by quick and easy profile shifts, corner connections, double-sided frames and add-on modules. In addition, there is the wide range of accessories that Bedrunka + Hirth offers for its workstation systems which can be used for Workalu.

Mahler highlights the new developments for the multi-board setup. These include aluminum profile struts and an additional swivel frame that can be attached to the left or right of the multi-board superstructure or fastened to the worktop. It can be fitted with a perforated wall, shelf or the new „Montage-Fix“. This is an ingeniously simple system for safely storing inlets or high-quality tools in a drawer and hooking them into the aluminum profile brace ready to hand when needed.

The Workalu workstation can be ergonomically adapted, equipped with new accessories or expanded at any time. In this way, it perfectly represents the motto of Bedrunka + Hirth, which states that the workplace must adapt to the requirements of the people using it. "Modern workplaces must be designed to be variable and flexible in order to optimize work processes," emphasizes B+H Managing Director Ludwig Kellner. Static, unchangeable workplaces are a thing of the past.
